  • General Counselling

    General counselling is the assistance and guidance in resolving personal problems. This may be short sessions that involve some talking therapy.

  • Contract work

    Assisting organisations with a one off or a periodic contract with an upcoming event/workshop, where the content could be ‘heavy’ and ‘traumatic’ to their staff. Employers may like to provide this duty of care to their staff, in pre-empting any employee stress.

  • Working with special needs

    Those with a special need may see things differently, and may need counselling adapted to help them understand.

  • Suicidal ideation / Self-Harming

    Suicidal ideation means wanting to take your own life or thinking about suicide. However, there are two kinds of suicidal ideation: passive and active. Passive suicidal ideation occurs when you wish you were dead or that you could die, but you do not formulate a plan to die by suicide. Active suicidal ideation, on the other hand, is not only thinking about it but having the intent to die by suicide, including planning how to do it.

  • Relationship issues

    Relationship issues can arise when there are persistent and painful patterns of feelings, behavior, and perceptions involving two or more partners in an important personal relationship. This could be a marriage, friendship, family or work relationships.

  • Individual, Couple, Group, or Family

    Depending on the issue, depends on how I can support your journey.

    Individuals for more one on one support. Couples talk through the tension between two people. Family Counselling for when there is an issue within the family dynamics. Group counselling when multiple people of different backgrounds are struggling with the same issue - eg new mothers; grief after an event; etc.

  • Panic attacks

    A sudden episode of intense anxiety accompanied by a feeling of impending doom and frightening physical symptoms, such as a racing heartbeat, shortness of breath, or nausea.

  • Trauma

    Trauma is when a person has an emotional response after experiencing a distressing event or series of events, such as abuse, a bad accident, rape or other sexual violence, combat, or a natural disaster.

  • Anxiety

    Anxiety is the mind and body's reaction to stressful, dangerous, or unfamiliar situations. It's the sense of uneasiness, distress, or dread you feel before a significant event.

  • Depression

    Depression is a constant feeling of sadness and loss of interest, which stops you doing your normal activities.

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

    A mental health condition that develops following a traumatic event characterised by intrusive thoughts about the incident, recurrent distress/anxiety, flashback and avoidance of similar situations.

  • Stress

    Stress is defined as a state of mental or emotional strain caused by adverse circumstances. Stress is a common and normal physical response to challenging or new situations.

  • Grief

    Grief is the natural reaction to loss. Individual experiences of grief vary and are influenced by the nature of the loss. Some examples of loss include the death of a loved one, the ending of an important relationship, job loss, loss through theft or the loss of independence through disability.

  • Loneliness

    Loneliness is the state of distress or discomfort that results when one perceives a gap between one’s desires for social connection and actual experiences of it. Sometimes, people just need someone to chat to, with no judgement.

  • Sexual and Gender identity

    Sexual Identity (or sexuality) is about who you are attracted to - whether it’s emotionally, physically or romantically. Whether this be the same gender, opposite gender, or another gender.

    Gender identity is the way someone identifies internally and how they choose to express themselves externally. Gender is separate from sex.
