Yaama (hello), my name is Lita, and welcome to Platypus Counselling Services.

I am a certified, registered and insured Counsellor of Aboriginal Heritage and a registered Victorian Disability Support Worker.

I have extensive 'lived' experiences, dealing with youth trauma, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and Suicidal Ideation.  I am also trained and certified in working with youth with special needs and I have worked with youth for almost 20 years with special needs and general wellbeing and mental health issues, including those struggling with sexual / gender identity.

My passions are my family, my pets, my friends, my culture, and helping people. Over the last 20 years, I have volunteered with Scouts Australia; I am a Justice of the Peace and I work mainly with the Aboriginal community.

I am currently working on a contract basis with a state-wide Aboriginal Organisation, providing support at their regular workshops and supporting Individual clients. I offer counselling for organisations, groups, individuals and families and offer Support Services for individuals who may require it. I offer a discount to individuals on a health care card or a pension.

I have a broad range of qualifications and experience, and happy to provide further information upon request.
